This book is part of my tribute to the shipbuilding legacy of my hometown of Portsmouth, VA. I call it The Portsmouth Aeroshipbuilding Co., a retrofuturistic version of my hometown’s shipyard. To push back the enemy threat and turn the tide of World War II, “The Yard” as it’s called, has developed a Jetpack to equip our brave paratroopers with the very power of flight itself. The pages of the book are designed to resemble TOP SECRET World War II file folders full of documents, sketches, memos and photographs. This book also contains real-world editorial history of the 555th paratroopers and the U.S. Navy Frogmen that inspired the illustrated concepts.
